SCX, try saying it ten times fast! Although it has a funny name this upgrade kit is a serious water saver. The controller connects to your existing timer and the sensor is buried in your turf connecting to a solenoid valve (you do not have to trench back to the controller, only to a nearby solenoid valve). Set your controller to water as often as possible and the SCX takes over from there.

The SCX communicates with the moisture sensor and only allows your timer to water when the turf needs it, Acclima calls this a Suspended Cycle® system. In the hot months of summer the SCX will permit your controller to water as often as needed. Then in the cooler months the controller will suspended water until the turf needs it. Many customers find their systems watering every other day in the summer then changing to once a week in the fall.

One customer found his system was suspended for three months while California experienced an unusually wet winter.
